Who is Jim Driscoll
A seasoned lobbyist – one with extensive experience at all levels of government and a proven track record.
A dedicated public servant for the better part of his career, Jim Driscoll served in both the Ritter and Hickenlooper administrations as a senior legislative advisor. Under then-Governor of Colorado Bill Ritter Jr., Jim was responsible for ushering in the Ritter administration’s top legislative priorities – including the statewide 30 percent renewable energy standard. Upon the election of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, Jim stayed on to spearhead the legislative efforts of, what was, a young administration. Today, Jim is recognized as a seasoned lobbyist – one with extensive experience at all levels of government and a proven track record in generating victories for his clients. Jim is a registered lobbyist in our nation’s capital, and in several states across the country – including California, Texas, Colorado, and Montana – offering his clients several viable routes to reach their advocacy goals, from the local to the federal level.
Prior to founding Jim Driscoll Consulting, Jim ran the state government relations practice of the nation’s largest group purchasing organization for independent pharmacies. In this role, Jim led efforts to open the group’s flagship state government relations office – and successfully passed key legislation in more than a dozen states, including: California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Montana, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Because Jim gives his clients the attention they and their campaigns deserve, many of his clients have been with JDC for more than a decade. Jim’s approach to lobbying and public affairs is a results-driven, collaborative one that employs custom-tailored tactics that have been determined thoughtfully after a thorough research and exploratory phase. A third-generation Montanan, Jim earned both his bachelor’s degree, as well as his Master’s in Public Administration, from the University of Montana. He calls Denver, where he resides with his wife and their children, home.
